Confused on Prodigy Brake for Tahoe?

I am a little confused on which Prodigy Brake I should get for our 2008 Chevy Tahoe. Is there just the Prodigy 2 and Prodigy 3? Also will I need a adapter for it?

If you install the controller yourself and splice the wires, do it by function and not color.

It doesn't exist. I just went through this with my 2008 Sierra. The wiring is there but you have to splice the wires yourself. I had to do the same with my old Trailblazer. Oddly enough, on GM trucks prior to 2007, there is a plug and play connector. Go figure.

I see all kinds of years but not the 2008.
Trying to find one on Amazon.

Now that is weird. I have an '11 Tahoe with a Prodigy controller and I'm using a plug and play harness (no splicing and I know because I installed it myself) however the prodigy website doesn't list an available plug and play harness. Hmmm..........

Prodigy Plug and Play Harness

It's not exactly plug and play. In addition to finding the unterminated wiring under the dash and connecting them for the controller harness, there are two wires under the hood that need to be connected. The terminal studs at the front of the fuse box are metric and you will need to buy metric nuts and the fuses to power them. One stud is for the controller 12V+ feed and the other for the battery (aux) feed to the 7 pin connector. The owners manual should show you the positions and what amp fuses to buy. My TT dealer tried to sell me a $7 fuse that Wal Mart had for $2. Here is a link to an install video.

On my 05 Tahoe, they supplied the short cable that attached to the fuse panel. located in the jack compartment. But in 08 it might be just like my 08 Silverado. Under the steering colum, there is a group of wires that are taped to a bundle of wires. Un-tape these wires. these are for the controller. The P2 or P3 has a short pigtale (wires) that attach to the Tahoe wireing. Also in the controller it gives the instructions on how to hook up.
The 12volt supply to the trailer is not included in this wire harness. There are 2 wires that are loose by the master cylinder that must be connected to the fuse box under the hood. They are also taped loose and the wires have eyelets on them that go to a small and a large post on the fuse box. also must add the fuse. Lift off the fuse box cover and it tells what size fuse to install.

I'm thinking the Tahoe might be the same based on another member's post a while back.

The 3 has more bells and whistles. Both work fine. I've got a 10 year old original Prodigy made before the 2 and 3 came out. Somebody posted a while back that the newer Tahoes don't have the plug in anymore for the pigtail harness, but check it out. You can still splice in and it's not too difficult.
