Hello all,

Does anyone have any thoughts on Fastway E2 trailer hitches? This is the one my RV dealer normally installs even though he said he would install what ever I wanted.

Thanks

Ron3rd is correct. E2 is 2-way sway control. I have the 800# E2 and have been pleased with it. You can get trunnion or round bar set ups....I have the round bar.

The E2 was about half the cost of the Equalizer brand hitch. Got mine from Makarios RV; free shipping. Installation was easy. Much better than a regular WD hitch and a friction sway control IMO.

My only complaint is that you really have to raise the TV in order to relieve enough tension to remove the bars; my TT does not have a power tongue jack so there's a fair amount of cranking to raise and lower before I'm hooked up or unhooked. No a big deal, especially if you have an electric jack.

The E2 looks like the Equal-zer (SP) brand hitch and should perform the same. Form my TT towing experience and many thousand miles, you cannot beat the Reese Dual Cam Straightline hitch. It is a reasonable priced hitch and works well. A lot of dealers do not like to sell them because they take a bit longer to install and set up properly.

The Fastway E2 looks like it has a completely different style of hitch head than the original Equalizer and does not have the "sockets" for 4 point sway control like the original. Don't own one, so can't say good or bad about it, but it is not the same as an Equalizer. The only thing that looks the same are the L-Brackets on the frame. I believe they refer to this hitch as 2 point sway control.

We have a Lance 1985 and am using the hitch from my previous trailer which is a eaz-lift with 800# bars. Have not had any issues with this hitch.
If you haven't already done so check out the LOA at:

Thanks 4asong. I just purchased a Lance model 1995, haven't taken delivery yet. What brand did you purchase? Any installation issues?

I had a bad experience with the E2 Manufacture and Dealer when purchasing a hitch for our Lance, neither informed us that special link brackets (at an additional cost) were needed for the BAL/Norco frame which is used by Lance. The E2 hitch comes with universal link brackets which were not designed for the BAL/Norco frame. After much research we decided to go with a different hitch.
