Getting Class A washed and top scrubbed today.

As washing the rig is always a big job for the two of us, and doing the top is impossible for either, I found a great solution today. The local Little League baseball kids were running a car wash to raise money to go to the state tournament that they had qualified for. Made them an offer, next thing I knew, there was a whole team at my house with buckets and brushes. Terrific job of cleaning it all top, slide toppers, and all four sides. With the tip I included, I think they can get to the tourney, and a winners party afterwards. And I still think it wa cheap!

Soft brushes, and sponges, no gel coat to worry about, Good adult supervision included. I did worry about someone slipping, but adult supervisor told that one kid had already been put out for the season by a baseball to the head during practice. We were watching them pretty close, and actually the top is not all that slick when wet. At least it got a good wash!

Yeah, besides kids dropping off the roof, I wouldn't let a group of Little Leaguers armed with brushes near my gel coat.

I'm very skeptical their team insurance would cover a kid taking a header off an RV roof. A kid could break his neck, especially from a typical 12' high class A roof. Hell, there are fall protection regulations that have to be followed. Something like this could be big trouble, for lots of people.

Depending upon which nanny state you live in, using kids to do that kind of work on a 12' roof is against child labor laws too. Glad it worked out for the OP, but I'd been a nervous wreck watching a bunch of kids crawling all over a wet and slippery roof.

Don't know about waxing, but we did use the wash & wax stuff to wash with. On our 30', I offered $50 for the wash, and another $25 to scrub the top and slide toppers. Tey were well pleased for that offer, and did my car also, which was sitting in the drive. As they were raising money for a trip to the tournament which they had already earned, there was a pretty good tip added just in case they won and needed a winners party. To answer the question, The same job at a Blud Beacon costs me about $75, I have had it done at campsites for $50+.. Usually figure $2 per foot is a pretty good guide to start with

I love it when the kids actually do something for themselves to raise money rather than setting up tables in front of Walmart or some other store and just asking for money.
Good for you for paying them well and for them for doing a great job.
