Getting grey and black water level gauges to work?

What's the best way to clean out the grey and black water tanks in order to get the level gauges to start working again? The fresh water gauge on our 2011 Zinger camper works fine, but the grey and black water gauges have stopped working last year......they both show empty all the time.

Any ideas?

You could.........

A - Change the probes to Horst probes. They work better but are not 100% immune to fouling.

B - Look down the toilet with a flashlight which seems to be the preferred method over on another board.

C - Buy into the "geo method" and spend the rest of your days buying soap and water softeners.

D - Drop a couple bones and install See Level2 which actually works, and forget about it.
Too many geezers, self appointed moderators, experts, and disappearing posts for me. Enjoy. How many times can the same thing be rehashed over and over?

Try The Geo Method to keep your tanks relatively clean.

I think mikebreeze is correct, you probably have problems other than debris on the sensors.

It is a constant challenge to keep the grey & black tanks clean so that the gauges work properly. This is sometimes caused by toilet paper wrapping around or attach to the sensors. Some people have flushed massive amounts of hot water through their tanks, some have used massive amounts of ice, some have used various cleaners such as Dawn and water. One thing that I found that helps is to use septic safe toilet paper as it breaks down easier in the tanks and is less likely to wrap around or attach to the sensors.

Since yours stopped working all together there may be a problem with the sensors themselves or the connections to them. Since they are in the tank, there is no easy way to get to them. You may have to drop the tanks and investigate. Sounds messy to me.
