Inside hood latch does not work to release the hood to be opened. Have Googled and pulled on the cable with pliers with no success. Any ideas? Thanks!

Exactly as navegator said! Got someone to pull while I pushed, did that several times and VOILA, the hood latch released. A little grease and she's good to go. THANK YOU!!!!!

OK have a person pull the handle at the same time as you move the latch that you can get at, the one you are moving is the 2nd hood release and push down on the hood at the same time, the primary latch is the one that is stuck, all three things need to happen at the same time you might need 3 persons to do this.

Have you pushed down slightly on the hood, that releases the tension on the hook part it self and permits the other latch to disengage and allows the hood to pop up slightly so that you can reach under and reach the safety latch.

I can reach through the grill and move one latch to the left, but I can't figure out how to release the latch that releases the tension and allows the hood to pop up slightly.

Some times you need to release the tension on the latch, have a second person press down on the hood while you apply pressure to the latch mechanism, then check for the alignment of all the components and watch for a broken pull cable, also see if the rubber stops are too high, that puts to much strain on the latch and prevents it from releasing.

THANKS! I can go through the grill and reach the latch that is visible from when the hood slighlty pops up from the inside release. I move the latch to the left but the hood does not budge. There must be another latch that is not releasing.
