List of Auto-transmission flat towables?

Is there a list or sticky somewhere that lists which USA made auto-transmission vehicles can be towed 4-down? We're gonna need to come up with one that is a few years old and auto trans is preferred to stick shift. Thanks.

I remember a cousin had one of the smaller Jimmy/Blazer 4wd that was nice, but just looking around they seem a little too old today. I looked at a few CR-V year models but the rear seats don't seem to lay flat. Does anyone know of any of the small suv's that are towable without mods and will also allow the rear seats to lay down flat (or almost flat)? Thanks.

It was the smaller Jimmy like the Sonoma PU, 1991 GMC Jimmy SLE V6, 2 door 4X4 SUV. It had a neutral position on the transfer case and prior to purchasing I called Remco and they told me the number on the transfer case that was the towable version that year. The dealer let me take it to get it checked out for the correct transfer case and it was correct. It towed great, sold it friends to tow behind their MH when we purchased a 5th wheel. Dick

Many thanks for the info.

Dick, did that 1991 GMC Jimmy 4x4 have a neutral position for the transfer case or did it have manual lock hubs (or both)? I would like to know more about this model and years that it would qualify without any mods. Many thanks.

No add-on anything except the base plate & tow bar and I also use a Classic Brake Buddy that I purchased in 2005. I now only buy vehicles to tow that don't need to be modified. Auto Trans vehicles we have used as toads, 1991 GMC Jimmy 4X4, 2003 Chevy Malibu FWD, 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4X4, and now the 2013 CR-V. Dick

Thanks for the CR-V info. I see that they seem to be very popular as toads. Will the CR-V automatic trans models prior to 2015 tow 4-down without an add-on transmission pump? Thanks.

Yes, just follow the pre-towing routine outlined in the owner's manual.

Any Honda CR-V prior to the 2015 model. FWD or AWD both are towable with auto trans and I think since 2007 or 8 they come standard with auto trans. Our 2013 CR-V AWD tows great, just follow the towing procedure in the owners manual. Dick

I spoke with the Remco folks today. Remco has a transmission pump kit for our Corolla and they list auto models that they have kits for, but I didn't notice a list of auto-trans cars that would tow 4 down without a trans pump. Maybe it was there but I didn't see it, I'll look again and will check Blue Ox also. Thanks.

I was told Blue Ox towing or Remco ,might help. Have not checked them yet.
