Locking Hitch Pin Won't Lock On My F-250

I have the locking hitch pin shown below. It locks and un-locks when it is alone, but when I put it on my Ford F-250 hitch it won't lock. It looks like it goes all the way through, but I guess it's just a fraction too short to catch the lock. Does anyone know a solution to this besides buying a different truck? I'm guessing if I buy a new locking hitch pin it may have the same problem.

It's a big receiver. Maybe that's the problem. I didn't realize my lock pin might be a smaller size. When I put the lock pin in the receiver it looks like enough of it extends out to lock it, but I guess not.

Looks too short. You can buy longer locking ones for the larger receivers.

Do you have a 2 1/2 inch receiver? 2 inch pin.
