This is an awesome story. My wife retired last Thursday from the Sheriff's dept. We are working on the house to sell and everything else we can sell, even the kids. SSSSHH they don't know it yet. It's ok they are in there late 20's and mid to late 30's. We bought a new 5th wheel and hope to hit the road as FULLTIMERS around December. We are looking forward to seeing every state with all of their roadside attractions. We live in an awesome nation and so excited to see it.

Thank you

Honeymooned on the beach in a tent at False Cape in VA Beach. Only neighbors were a guy about a mile down the beach & a fox that tried to come in the tent every night for 5 nights. Best $40 I ever spent.

Well, let's see, though not very news worthy, in August of 1970, I had just turned 20 and the wife had just turned 18 when we got married on August 8th, 1970....Had a pop-up camper that we spent our honeymoon in at a campground in WVa..(didn't have the money to visti 50 states, but we both had jobs:))........now 44 years later we're still enjoying our camping together....

yep, nowhere as news worthy as the OP's, but the wife and I still talk about that Honeymoon we had together for a week in a pop-up a little over 44 yrs ago.....( hope the newly-wed's marriage last that long:)

Hmmmmm - 1-17-70
The plan was to drive my then almost new 1970 van which was in progress of DIY camping mods to Vegas (from L.A.) for a brief honeymoon, then do a better trip later.

However, the night before (batch party hitting bars) a lot of beer was spilled inside my van (the designated driver was a teetotaler LEO).
It sat closed up at my apt. during the ceremony & reception.
Thing smelled like a brewery - and no way it was going to 'air-out' in time!

So - Plan B - grabbed a flight to Vegas.
No special outfits - but the stews had us spotted (she said she always could spot 'em) - and the Capt. made a congratulatory announcement over the PA.
Of course everybody had to turn around (and/or stand up) to see the newlyweds.

OK - all well and good, right?..:@

Well - except for a slight glitch to return!..:(
LAX was socked in due to fog.
Been too long to remember if Ontario was an alternate then or not.

Anyway - check out the train. Nope - booked solid.

Soooooo - figure how bad can Greyhound be?
Heck it's only a few hours drive back to L.A.

Yikes! - Thing stopped at every tiny town along the way.
Took about eight hours.

Last time we ever rode a bus anywhere - "by choice".
(There was another *family* adventure years later, & thanks to Amtrak we were forced to "bus it" again - but that's another lengthy story).

Had to have a friend pick us up in downtown L.A. - and of course the Greyhound terminal is a scenic wonder, LOL!

Yeah - we did another honeymoon later that year that worked out a lot better..:C

When Wife and I got married, oh, about what 36 years ago.. We spent our honeymoon in a TENT... A Thermos POP tent no less. Nice tent.

Then we got a PUP
Then a 13 foot SCAMP

Then a 38 foot class A

Then she hit a tree in our new used jeep at 50 mph and left me all alone.
Home was where I park it. but alas the.

About 2 years after getting our RV, we were in an "RV Resort" overnight. While sitting in lawn chairs enjoying the evening, a Class B pulled in about 2 spots away.

A young couple, in their 20's, jumped out and ran around setting up. About 10 or 15 minutes after getting back in, their RV started rocking. DW was the one who noticed and pointed it out to me when she started laughing.
