Pack Rats!

Does anyone have suggestions on how to deter and or remove pack rats from your TT? We stayed in a CG with a pack rat problem and now have a critter living in the sealed bottom (not so sealed as I thought it was) of our TT. Thanks

I recommend "JAWZ" snap traps. Other brands don't have as wide a trigger, and the JAWZ traps can be used with or without bait, if you place them against a wall, since the mice run past at night. I've read that sticky pads work well too, provided there are no other animals (cats, dogs, birds, drunk friends) that one has in their RV that can get stuck in the trap.

Place one or two moth balls where the mice/rats enter. They do not like the smell of camphor, but neither may you!!!??????. Also, stuff the holes with steel wool...mice/rats cannot penetrate it,

Do not use poison...it may kill your neighbors pets!!!

Be careful with poison. Some rats can eat it and crawl into the most difficult place to get to and die then stink to high heaven. Prefer traps.

Thanks all. I bought some rat size snap traps and baited them with peanut butter. I will check the trap line tomorrow.

the snap trap should do it or if you are moving to non pack rat country that will take care of the critter also (didn't Darwin contemplate that thought?).

Get a large snap trap. Bait it with peanut butter. It won't take long. Maybe a couple placed inside the RV and outside by the inside of the tires. Make sure you follow the directions for placement.

I had a Jayco 19RD with thermal package. The botton had large holes. I sealed up all those large holes. I also added the Marinco plug. Mice could walk up my power cord and there was a easy route directly to the inside of my TT under the couch. After those two repairs I had no more critters inside. Once critters get inside the bottom cover it was an easy route up under kitchen cabinet. I like the layout of the 23FB. If I had purched that layout I would probably still be in my Jayco TT.
