pet fees?

Hello all. Saw something tonight that I haven't seen before. I was looking at campgrounds in Holland mi. Like to make a trip there next spring. Not necessarily during the tulip festival but while they are still bloomed. Anyways I read the fee schedule and it wasn't terrible. Then I saw a pet fee of 3$ a pet. That's $9 for us and it is enough of a difference to look at other places. My question is ...this common at campgrounds? We are newbies. This was our second season as rv ers.

There's a state park in Holland. They won't charge a pet fee.

Check out Zeeland, MI for Dutch Treat. They are closer than Oak Grove. Not fancy but very friendly. The State Park has full hookup sites at the beachfront also

A $100 per pet would be fair. More if the owner can't control their pet. Even more if the pet is smarter than the owner........

As long as the same applies to children I'm good with that.

I see far more disobedient and troublesome children that I do pets by a wide margin.

The pet fee can be used as a revenue generator! I've been to some campgrounds that charge the fee and they don't clean up, so i don't see the fee for cleanup. Maybe if i charged them $3 to clean up a site that had dog poo in it we'll see how they like it. The only real reason i could see the charge is if they had a rider on the park insurance policy and the $3 covered that part of the policy, which would be fair!
