You are very right, now that we are gone from there we have much better and fun things to do with our time. My posts are all deleted and we will just chalk that one up to a bad experience and move on.

I don't mind being questioned but I will not tolerate being called a liar. We were instructed if we wanted to continue filling the assistant manager position that we post the ad exactly the way they wanted it worded. We complied as we were management at the time. Things at the park didn't change, they were always there but we didn't see the light until we found out we were being lied to and stabbed in the back, we found out that the other workampers were instructed not to talk to us or socialize with us or they would be told to leave, we assumed the story we were being told was true, that the other workampers were going to be replaced because they didn't work well with us. It was a lot that happened in a very short period of time and everything snowballed so quickly from them not being able to say enough good things about us to us being told we had to leave in 24 hours. Believe me it was a shock to us and my wife still breaks down in tears when she talks about it. The lady manager was acting like her best friend, sharing clothes so she could go out places, going out to eat and so on. My wife was floored when all this happened. We were warned about their insecurities about losing their jobs earlier but the person who told us was being forced to leave so we assumed it was just their anger talking. Like I said before after all this happened and we compared notes with the hosts that left three days after us and with another couple who left a few months ago, and are in another local park, we found out the truth about what goes on at that park. I know it seems crazy, and it was, so I can see how others not experiencing it can think we are nuts. As far as the other, we had about 12 permanent and semi permanent residents there at the park so we were never full. It is not a destination park, simply a overnight stop for most visitors to get off the interstate. There are a lot of railroad workers and other laborers working in the area and a big number of them are Hispanic or have their families with them, we were not allowed to register any long term residents with children or if they were Hispanic, we had to take their information and give it to the manager, we also were instructed that no matter how many open spots we had we were to place anyone with children or Hispanics in the far corner spots next to the interstate so they would not be a problem. No way were we to allow them to register for more than one day, so you tell me what you think. We simply wanted to be trained as assistant managers for future use on our resume, not actually have any say in running the park and had we known the truth and put all the red flags together we would have been gone when our three months were over. Like I said before your whole outlook on the people and the park can and does change in an instant when you learn the truth and some people do a very good job at hiding their true selves with lies and their actions until the truth comes out you confront them face to face as we did. Oh yes and also can you explain four host couples being forced out with a 24 hour notice within the four months we were there including us? Was that us having a problem or insane management? Sometimes it just takes a while to realize the truth.
The reason this is unbelievable to me is the fact you were OK with posting a job position you knew was absolutely false, you were OK with practicing obvious discrimination against certain ethnic groups and only when you were told to leave immediately did you actually leave. You posts make it appear you were upset that after being fired, you couldn't hang around a bit longer. You are saying that the false job descriptions and the racist red-lining of guests were common to the park and by failing to take it upon yourself to quit and move on you are pretty much saying you were OK with those practices. If there is any truth to the job postings, the position was unpaid, work for a site only. It's not like leaving would have left a huge income void. You actions are in complete contradiction to what you are claiming happened at the park. As an aside, why the heck would a 35 site park, that is never full, need a manager couple, an assistant manager couple and several sets of workampers?

Royl: I believe you and understand your position by virtue of many years fulltiming and workamping. Stick with your guns and stop responding to the folks here that don't have a clue. The only thing responding to them will get you is callouses on your fingers. Don't stoop so low.

I am done. I know what we experienced and how quick things changed when they went off on us so like I said anyone who thinks they know better, go take one of the three positions that are open and then come back in a few months when you know what you are talking about and tell us about it. I posted to try and help others, the ones of you who are only here to agitate can go work for them. We know how hard we work and what the story was and that is all that matters. Seems if you have good things to say this is the forum for that but if not some of you will pick it apart only to have something to argue about. Bye!
I know you say you are gone, but if you happen to pop back in, I am curious which story is true. Did things just change quickly for the worse after you posted those job openings and the comments about how great the place is/was like you are saying in this post, or were you forced to post those flattering comments like you said in a previous post? Your postings for the workamping positions said the park was a small park (35 sites according to rvparkreviews.com) filled with older guests who are mostly either seasonal or full time. Just how often, then, did Hispanics with small children have to be placed at the very back of the park? Were they placed there because of their ethnicity or because that was the most logical place to put overnighters since most of the sites were already occupied? The whole narrative seems to shift to meet your changing opinions on the park.
You apparently want to be able to call the management at that park illiterate racists whose management ability borders on insane, yet you want to be able to say that without anyone questioning you or your story. If you really only want to preach your side of a story with no possibility of people questioning you or your positions, I suggest you start a blog. That is the place to post one sided positions, not on an open forum that allows a free flow of opinions from all positions.

Oh and by the way I had to post that the jobs were filled because I could find no way of deleting my posts. Actually there are now three openings there now as the others have left the park also so here is your chance to work there.
All you had to do is go to your post and click "edit". You can change your posts anyway you want. That excuse doesn't hold water.

Wow, I just read your post in April about the wonderful workamper positions available at this un-named park. I have to agree with the previous post about connecting the dots on this one...highly suspect.

Sorry, but it is awfully hard to connect these dots. Less than a month ago you were posting how workampers were needed at that park and how wonderful the place was. Now it is hell on earth. Apparently it is a private park, yet your long post references something about state parks. You slam the managers as ignorant back woods people who are illiterate. You slam the owner. You imply the park is racist. If it was my park I also would have had you out on your ear without any grace period. I have serious doubts your post is anywhere close to the real truth.
