renting a tow bar

On our way south last November our coach was destroyed by a fire in Louisiana and we had to rent storage to put everything in except what we could jam into our car. We finally got a new M/H and as luck would have it our tow bar is in....you guessed it "Louisiana" and we live northwest of Chicago. We are going down to pick up our stuff so am trying to find a towbar we could rent. Does anyone have any ideas as to where one could rent a tow bar? Will probably try some of the car rentals tomorrow but thought someone out there may have so other ideas.

Thanks!

I second the following options:

1. Tow dolly
2. Buy a new one, and sell it on Craigslist for just about what you paid for it.

Putting 10-ply tires on half ton trucks since aught-four.

Tow dolly or auto transport is the way to go.
I always recommend the Auto Transport.
#1 All your cars wheels are off the ground.
#2 The Auto Transport has surge brakes tow dollies don't.

U-Haul doesn't rent tow bars anymore.

Why rent when you can get a Reese fixed-arm adjustable width towbar for $165?
It has 5000 lb. capacity, and fits a 2 inch ball.
I used one for years on various Jeeps.

Also, check with equipment/tool rental stores.

Check U-Haul, they at least used to rent them when bumpers weren't all plastic.
