Am towing a 2008 Nissan Versa and looking for a flexible protective cover for the front end and windshield to be in place while towing: similar to the wrap around canvas type that is put on the front windshield of a Class C for night privacy. Thanks.

Mike,
Another option is to put a "clear bra" on the toad. The up side is it is there all the time. The down side may be the cost of installation.

Many times a cover that is over the paint will tend to collect a little grit or sand, and that will vibrate while driving, scrapping away paint in the process.

Check out this website.

Good luck,

This is the one we have for our PT Cruiser Convertible. We used it on a trip from Billings to Ringgold, GA, and back. No paint damage, no road debris damage, no problems at all!

Is is not inexpensive, but we considered it well worth the price.

ProtectATow is the one I think I'd get were I to consider it necessary. I hope this link works, the one above didn't.

We've found our Protect-A-Tow does a fine job of keeping road******off our toad. It also protects the tow bar and cables, and even keeps the back of the coach cleaner. The extra minute or two it takes to hook it up is well worth it.

They make a real nice material guard that goes on from the RV to the toad that 'prevents' any thing from coming up.

Can't think of the name but I am sure someone here will chime in with the name of it.

Amen! Made the mistake of getting a cover for a motorcycle that I towed on a trailer behind the RV. First trip out with it I noticed that the wind had slapped the cover against the bike and places were there were tie downs had beaten the paint down to bare metal. I'd have been much better putting up with the extra bugs and dirt I'd have collected towing it without any protective cover and that's the way I tow my Jeep now too.

Good morning j-d! Roadmaster base plate and towbar. The Nissan is barely 2600 lbs and I did not put a braking system in. Was going to "do" it myself. After much research decided against that and had a local trailer hitch company do the installation. Am very pleased with all aspects. I tow it on a trip to Vegas the first of May. Have a GREAT day!

So Mike,

What Base Plate, Tow Bar, and Braking System did you decide on?

Agree, BTW, with not getting hung up on a protector for the Versa. Exception might be logging roads, gravel roads...
