Towing my 2010 Equinox

Okay, how do you Equinox owners tow your vehicles without draining the battery? I have yet to tow mine without the battery going down. I've pulled the No. 32 fuse, turned off everything in the car, key in the ACC position, gear in Neutral. I have a Roadmaster Even Brake system with the remote sensor in the motor home. I can go about 50 or 60 miles but then the sensor says the battery is low, and the car won't start again. When that happens, I disconnect the braking system and tow the car without it. Not safe, but necessary. Any suggestions or ideas of what I'm doing wrong?

I was referring to the braking apparatus that you attach to the brake pedal in your towed vehicle. Is it plugged into the cigarette lighter socket, or is it motion sensor controlled? I think mine draws too much power from my towed vehicle battery.

The lights are permanently installed into the tail-light housing, then wired directly wired to a receptacle at the front of the car, then another cable connects it to the trailer receptacle on the motorhome. They are totally independent from the car. I plug the car into the MH just like it was a trailer.

I'll have to see what wiring kit Camping World installed in my car. I have a Towmaster car bracket, so hopefully they used the harness you have. Thanks.

I cut everything off, pull the fuse, then turn the key 2 clicks forward which allows me to put the transmission in neutral, then 1 click backwards, tow 250 miles and start the engine for 5 minutes, run through the gears a couple of time and do it all again. Great option, but wife says no more wiring. Have to use what we already have. Guess we won't be dinghy towing for a while until we figure this out. Thanks anyway.
