Hello All, I have a 2017 Ford Fusion SE with a 2.5L engine FWD & was wondering if anybody has towed one 4 wheels down & what did you need to do if anything to tow. Me & wife are getting older & do not like doing the dolly. As always thank you all in advance.

I have friends who also did that years ago on a Toyota Matrix. They had nothing but problems.

I did that years ago, on a Kia Sedona minivan. It worked OK, but I would not recommend such. Don't believe it matters, as I'm pretty sure I saw where the company that used to make the lube pumps for that purpose (Remco), quit making them some time ago. Soo, that is probably not an option, regardless.

Update: Yes, Remco indeed quit making them back in October 2020. Here is the announcement they gave about it.

Its too bad you didn't get the Hybrid Ford Fusion model. I had one of those for years, it was a blast to drive, and one of the easiest, best vehicles for flat towing I ever owned. If it hadn't been totaled in a wreck about 4 years ago, I'd probably still own it and be towing it.

I just looked on Motorhome Magazine's 2017 Dinghy Towing Guide list and while the Fusion Hybrid and Fusion 2.7L AWD are listed as 4-down towable, your specific model is not listed.

But don't go by any list or what anyone says....You should absolutely look in your owners manual (as suggested above) under Recreational Towing or something like that (not Emergency Towing) to be sure.

If you have the owners manual it should tell you if you can tow it 4 down and the steps to make it so.

Does Ford say the 2017 Fusion SE can be towed four down? Remember, what does Ford says, not a friend.
