Just wondering why you should not use regular silicone around the seams of windows and other seams.

Silicone does NOT belong around an RV.

Use Dicor or Proflex

Proflex is what the dealers use for waterproofing, and it's more like 1/2 sealant and 1/2 adhesive.

It's some great stuff.

Silicone doesn't stand up to the rigors of an RV, it eventually degrades and loses the bond. Proflex is a three part polymer that has excellent bond strength and elongation.
