For the past several years, we have seasonal camped. I had built a set of long steps for our 14 year old 92 pound dog to get in and out of trailer.
Now, a weekender. Any ideas to get old dog in and out of trailer? Too heavy for me to lift up and down, he is stubborn anyway. He has bad rear hips and can't climb steps. Need something that we can take to and from camp grounds with us. Portable! Got any ideas or have something that works? post me a picture if you can.
Get a good quality solid ramp such as this one from Petstep. Had a 75 pound 14 yr old rescue Golden with bad hips and plate and screws in both hind legs. She used the ramp with no problem. But did not like a cheaper plastic telescoping one we bought at PetSmart as the surface was somewhat slick. She is gone now, but our "new" 9 yr old rescue Golden has taken to it well also.
We also use a ramp for our 11year old Golden and our four year old Tripawd Lab/Chessie. It folds in half and will support up to 250 pounds. Got it through Costco online. The Golden lioves it because he is afraid of open stairs.
This is the one we used with our older retired racing Greyhounds when the traveled with us, on a full time basis with us. It was light and had good traction.
We use a telescoping dog ramp for our older golden retriever. It works perfectly. We do add two rubber door mats on the ramp to give him more traction while going up and door. If we don't do that, he slides on it and that's not good.

Possible a collapsible dog ramp built for pick-up trucks. You can get them fairly long and you may be able to place it over the steps into the trailer. Fold it up, stow it, and away you go.
