be nice if it is adjustable some place on the circuit board

insides

yes $15

about 5" wide 4"deep/height, 14 inches long these are estimates, i did not measure them

searching the web i found this

http://l7inc.us/info_TPD5A-1D

12vdc 600w power supply

I can explain it to you.

If you saw the garbage barge output of a standalone RV converter on an oscilloscope, you could appreciate the 15 millivolt ripple and exceptionally tight droop as found on this unit's spec sheet. It is a power supply. A battery charger is not a power supply nor is the reverse true. A power supply develops exceptionally clean power.

I like techno stuff too but it needs a purpose to spend money.

I bought something like this to run my model train at Christmas:

Voltage always sags on model train controllers but not this one. Amps rise and fall as it goes over the trestle. Holds speed much better as power increases when climbing and drops off when decending. Great for a bench power supply also.

Good luck with the $15 12v supply.

if it turns out to be adjustable
i may go get one just as a backup to have on hand
and tinker with

dw says i have too much 'junk' now
shes right, but i can't stop my 'affliction' not an 'adiction'
i'm afflicted with techno tinkering
I can explain it to you.

If this is like any other Power One supply I have had over the last 30 years, it has a pot that tops out around 15V, and probably has ext. sense points as well. Hopefully they will still have them on Sat.

The 24v input is interesting. This must have come out of something with fail-over service. Never seen that on a Power One

$15.00 is a good deal for a shop 55amp 12Vdc supply

I use a different approach for low cost shop power supplies
Currently in use are about 8 tossed out aka junked converters, todays throw away society it's easier to buy a new one for most folks. They were all repaired for less than $5.00 each in parts and are now fully operational. The 100amp WFCO with a nice pendant easily switches between 13.2 / 13.6 / 14.6 and does a great job when high current is needed.

I am hating my computer this morning.

That appears to be a "Single Stage" Device, might be useful to provide power but NOT for battery charging and maintenance.

Its a 55A 12V supply. How can that not be a converter? If you wanna buy one and sell it to me, I'm there. Otherwise I'm off to buy one Sat morn. on the way to the RC field

Very sweet deal! If I didn't have a couple of regulated supplies already on the bench, I'd be all over that.

I do see a couple of trimmers on the board but I doubt they are adjustable for output.

Thanks, that is what I thought. There used to be a store near me that had stuff like that, usually closeouts on the last few in stock to clear their shelves. That looks like a super good buy.

I looked at allelectronics website and can't find it. Did you see it online or was it in the store?

Interesting.

I wonder if you order one, if the seller will state the price is wrong, and not send it for such a low price. I had that happen when I was ordering some 24 LED panels. The seller claimed the price was wrong, they wated about twice as much as they stated in the ad, yet said for the stated price they would send 9 LED panels (instead of 24 LED). I had to cancle that order and place it with another company.
