AC problems again

I have a Penguin II heat pump/AC that I am having issues with. My RV is a 2015 and both units have been replaced under warranty.

Today it is what I would call short cycling. I can set the temp as low as 65 and it will come on and the compressor will run for awhile then it will go off but the fan keeps running. After awhile the fan will cut off but will start again in just a few seconds and the compressor will start again.

This continues over and over and over and it has no bearing on what the inside temp actually is. Eventually the compressor will quit coming on and the fan will run until I turn it off.

The coils are clean and I have re-set the thermostat, this is all I know how to do.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

By the way when the compressor is running the air is cold.

Also the heat pump function works as it should. We are using it each morning in Colorado.

I should have asked earlier, why was the units replaced? Was it the same type of problems?
Not sure if this will help. Look at page 60+ for setup configuration.

I do not believe the new units would have. In many cases, they are moved from old to new.

Sounds like a control since both complete units have been replaced.
Does both sets of wires come to the thernmostat? Or does the thermostat wires go to one unit and then to the other?

Yes I reset thermostat. No change.

Thermostat is wired Dometic model 3314080 ten button.

I would be looking at the control system.
Make and model of the thermostat?
Are they hard wired or wireless?

Only one having issues and of course it is the one in the main cabin that does all the work.

I thought it might be freezing up but it is not. I got up on the roof and checked.

If it was a bad thermistor wouldn't it freeze up in HP mode when it is 40 degrees?

BOTH units do the same or only one? I would suspect a bad FREEZE Thermister. Doug
