Air in water at the faucets

Just waking up the RV from winter storage. I have charged the water system with shore connection and attempting now to sanitize the system by adding bleach and water to the fresh water tank and pumping thru the system. There seems to be a lot of air mixed with water at each faucet.

I checked the valve at the water tank to make sure that it drawing from the water tank.

Any suggestions?

After removing the pump and disassembling the head, I found some plastic particles in the rubber valve grates. Cleaned and reassembled and reinstalled now every thing works normal.

I'm going to remove the pump to inspect. Amazon has a replacement head assembly if necessary with 2 day shipping. Will let you know what I find.

Make sure the winterising valve or t-valve is fully shut and not sucking air. T test Put the winterising hose into a bucket see that it doesn't such any water.

How old is the pump? Did it freeze over the winter? I would check the parting line on the pump and look for white corrosion indicating a small leak over time. If it is leaking at the parting plane where the rubber membrane is sealed it will draw air in there and cause the effect that you are seeing. If you see no evidence of a leak there there,it may be a loose or cracked fitting in the supply line from your water tank. You can also disconnect the supply line from your FW tank and put a line to the pump from a 5 gallon pail if no air comes out it is your supply line if air still comes out it is your pump leaking.

IF you properly winterized by the dry method there will be a lot of air but it should go away.

IF you forgot a step or two you may have a cracked inlet strainer on the water pump allowing the pump to suck air. Or other crack in the pump intake line.

Then you are sucking air in on inlet side of pump

Suction line from tank to pump..........loose fittings/crack in line
Pump suction strainer crack/loose
Pump suction side housing cracked
Winterizing kit

Problem is on suction side of pump

Discharge side you would have a leak and pump would not turn off or it would cycle w/o any demand...but air would not get in.

Tighten the input fitting on the pump after making sure it is not cross threaded. If you have a winterizing kit on the RV make sure the valve is fully closed.

ALL that air in ALL of the plumbing lines and WH has to go some where.

Water filling WH and plumbing lines expels that air but due to turbulence the water also absorbs some of that air.

By the time your are done sanitizing and rinsing/flushing system the air should be gone.

I agree. There always seems to be air in the lines when I change from using the water pump to shore water connection (or vice versa). I was never concerned. Just let it run until all the air comes out.

I let the faucets run until the air is gone. Takes a while.
