Atwood furnace

My furnace will only stay lit, and run properly, if the outside access cover is off. When cover and exhaust is screwed into camper,  the furnace won’t stay lit. It will lite then go out and keep cycling. What can I do to fix this issue?

Going off what way2roll says, are you having this issue both when plugged in to shore power or on battery? If only when on battery your batteries might be a bit low and the fan is barely fast enough to move the sail switch with the cover off.

Thanks for the reply. It is a 2017 keystone cougar. It stated acting up the end of last winter, it would take 1-3 tries to lite. We are on shore power.

We have tried replacing  the circuit board, limit switch, the burner head, cleaning the sail switch and resetting it. We don’t see anything in exhaust tube.

You didn't mention how old this unit is and if it worked properly before today. Symptoms described could be a number of things - LP supply, regulator, sail switch, high limit switch, restricted cold air return, restricted exhaust tube, etc.

Unfortunately to access the sail switch, high limit switch, circuit board, etc., the furnace has to be pulled away from the interior wall and/or removed (first remove outside exhaust port assembly)

You could try resetting it, sometimes there is a reset switch on top, otherwise pull the fuse for about 30 seconds and put it back and then try. Also check for debris, wasp nests, spider webs etc in the exhaust tube.

Hi and welcome. You posted this in the community feedback section which is for issues with the website itself. Hopefully the mods will come along and move it to the proper location.
