Digital Recorder

We are writting a blog about our travels, to remember what went down and avoid "senior moments" it would be nice to record our thoughts as we hike,drive ect.
Can any one recomend a small recorder with a good memory size that can be easyly carried on a hike and easyly operated?

Lots of little digital recorders are out there; probably about any one of them would be more than sufficient for this use. You're far more likely to be limited by battery life in the recorder than by memory capacity. 4GB is over a year's worth of 64kbit MP3 recording, which is more than sufficient for easily understandable voice recording. It's also about six hours of uncompressed CD quality stereo recording.

Do you have a smartphone? Both Android and iPhone have integrated App's for this.
