Dometic Issue

Hello all,
I am new to the forum but have had my truck camper for a while now. Everything works normally when plugged into 120v but I recently purchased an ETQ 2500w/2200w generator and as soon as I switch the fridge over to ELEC the Power converter trips. I can hit the reset and it just trips again. I can hook the generator directly to the fridge and it runs it fine no problem but when the power is routed through the power converter it doesn't work.
Can anyone please provide me with any thoughts on what the issue may be and/or how to fix it. If you need any more information please let me know and I will do my best to provide whatever info is needed to get this problem fixed.
Thanks,
Dave

Do you know of a way to test the heating element for leakage? I'm thinking of replacing it or just rewiring the outlet that is for the fridge to bypass the campers GFI. That way it would still work and the GFI on the Geny should still cover it. I agree with runnin on LP but I am a big fan of winter use and ever ounce of LP would be better used for heat. Any thoughts?

I'm guessing that is a ground fault interrupter, and it could be that the refrigerator heating element has a small bit of current leakage- I also bet the generator has a floating ground. I would really just use the fridge on LP.

I have attached a picture of what is tripping and shutting down the power to the camper. Hope this helps.

I'm not understanding what exactly is tripping- is it a GFI, or a breaker or what?
Worse comes to worst, you can just keep the fridge on LP- it doesn't use that much propane.

Not sure what voltage/hrz is but it is putting out 124 volts. Lights and heater works but as soon as the fridge is switched on the campers power converter trips. It is an ETQ IN2500I seen here http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002VWL234/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Its not as quiet as a Honda but I love it for the less than half the price of an equivalent wattage Honda.
Also I have unplugged the fridge and plugged it strait into the generator and it is no issue but the power converter will not supply it power when connected to the camper for some reason. Got a trip coming up in a couple of days and was planning on boondocking for much of it but guess that's not going to happen.

Have you checked the generator output voltage/hrz? What model converter?
