She who must be obeyed. Has decided we need a gen. as I'm on O2 24-7, I'm 79 so pulling a starter cord several times is out the window Last time edit.shut down our area was at 3-am. I work up at 330. could not breathe. At our age a small 110V generator, that will not wake the dead is needed. Our problem is what and where, any help would be great......

For a few dollars more I'd go with the Predator 3500w and with a Harbor Freight discount code it would be cheaper yet.

I am 75 with mild HD and use a small Firman 2000W inverter generator with an easy pull starter. It starts always on first or second pull with no effort to speak of. Very smooth gentle pull.
Weighs less than 50lbs. Following instructions I slowly pull the starter cord a few inches until I feel resistance and then make a rapid yank or pull on the starter.

Hi,

I have 556 amp-hours of battery bank. It will run an O2 concentrator set at 2 liters per minute for nearly 4 hours, before the inverter alarms for low power.

The only buy off the shelf solutions are the Preditor 3500, Champion 3400 (with remote electric start), Kipor IG3000, Honda 3000, and Yamaha 3000.

I have the Yamaha. If it were to die and I wished to replace it, I would buy either the Predator, or the Champion.

You can buy an electric start kit for small generators like Honda. The kits cost under $400. They will add weight and make the generator more cumbersome.

I think you should try the pull rope on some small generators, they are easy to start.

Inverter generator is popular and kind to electronics. Very good but expensive is honda 2200i. One of the quieter gens. About 1/2 price is Westinghouse 2500i. Also good gets better gas mileage than honda. Neither are electric start but it can be added.

For about twice the price of the honda 2200i is the honda 3000i. It is electric start and very quiet. Very dependable. That would be my choice. There are many other brands.

I dont know of any , small, (2000 watt or less) that are electric start.
For elec start generally will be 3000 watts plus, and weigh upwards of 100 lbs.

But my first thought would be to check with your insurer, is there a battery back up unit available for your O2 unit, will insurance cover it?
If not, you may want to consider a battery and home charger, and then use an inverter to draw power from the battery.

If you don't expect to need power for more than a few hours, a battery system may be cheaper and easier to work with.

I would suggest looking into an inverter first.
The smallest electric start genset would be heavy.
