'06 Cavalier. 30 Amp service soon to be 50. Progressive Dynamics PD4560 dist. box.

Now for the weird and the question, Lol.
Everytime the converter is on my radios pickup tons of RFI and the television signal is lost(DTV). Pulled out the volt meter and did some reading: I have 34 VAC from chassis ground to 120 VAC ground. If I pull all DC grounds(Converter and chassis)and shut the converter down, I still have lights although very dim. Also, if the chassis ground rubs with the 120VAC ground wires on branch circuits, the converter sounds like it is arcing even though, the 120VAC ground is not connected. I did find one ground loop. Had a small gauge wire that was grounded somewhere but when disconnected, Has no effect on anything else. Tried to get a schematic from gulfstream and they're no help. If I probe the 120VAC neutral to ground with the ground pulled, I still have 34 VAC. Connected, 1.2VAC. If I kill every breaker there is no voltage. With every breaker I switch back on, The voltage goes up. I even have AC voltage at the converter output on or off. And by off, I shut the breaker off and checked with voltmeter. 0 Volts. Checked to see if any DC circuits were back feeding voltage, None are. What am I looking at here and what do I need to correct it? I'm fairly proficient with electricity. Thats also why I was "playing" in a live box. And even on my surge protectors that show if it is grounded, With the 120 VAC ground pulled, it still shows a weak ground. I did ground the aluminum body a while back and looks like I should have... Looked all down the chassis and see nowhere 120VAC should come into contact with it.
Also found out 30 VAC doesn't even tingle. Or I'm that used to it. If something doesnt make sense, Please let me know. This is REALLY confusing.
Thanks in advance.
Update: Did a continuity check across neutral and ground, Shows dead short. This is going through just the wire coming into the box, Not connected to any circuits. Although, My plug tester shows everything is fine.

Jamnw, I'll do that tonight after I get some work done and my wife gets her school work done. Were trying to get used to living in this unit. I'll post the results as soon as I get them.

I thought we had determined the "short" was him measuring resistance between neutral (white wire) and ground in the receptacle that supplies his 120VAC.
Which is NORMAL.

If you unplug the shore power cable from the receptacle feeding the 120VAC to the trailer.

Place your MAIN breaker in the OPEN position.
Is there continuity between ANY of the wires in the shore power cable measuring toward the trailer/converter?

L2 is vacant. That is further down the line. The conductors were connected yes. However, I pulled them and re-checked. The short was still there on the shore cable but not in the main wiring. The water heater is LPG with 12VDC ignition.

Did you jumper between L1 and L2 in the distribution panel or is L2 vacant?
One time you posted that there was a direct short between the neutral and ground. That was reading with conductors connected. Have your read with the conductors disconnected? You need to locate where the short is.
Does it have an electric water heater? Disconnect all conductors to it if it does.

Yes I pulled all three apart. Even pulled the entire shore cord out to inspect and it looks fine. This does make sense if you've ever looked inside a PD4560.
The design is, Both sides of the 120 are split into two different sides. And if you know what you're doing, You can use a 50 amp box on a 30 amp cord. SAFELY. Right now, It is in a "shop" environment having different works performed. Electrical is just one of the things I'm on. This is not the final location where it will be permanently used. Also, I know batteries filter out DC. I have 2 batteries in parallel connected to the converter. Both are good. The Television antenna is not built into the unit. It is a stand alone type. For those that don't know, An '06 Cavalier is a Gulfstream Cavalier other wise known as a "Fema trailer" by most people. Other brands built them and they almost all look alike.

NONE OF THIS THREAD MAKES ANY SENSE!

If you do not have access to the main power breaker pannel then how are you going to converting it from 30 to 50 amp. Just changing the pannel in the park model will not do it.

The converter needs to have a GOOD battery in the circuit...Why...it acts to help filter the poorly filtered DC being put out by the coverter. Some are worse than others and with all the filtering gets worse as the converter begins to die. The converter is passing 60 cycle the RFI you are hearing. The RV antenna needs clean DC to operate hense the loss when trying to run the TV off the converter power.

Did you separate the wiring at that location?

Yes I did. It hasn't been closed since all this started. That is where I get all my reading at. That and the recepticals.

Did you ever open the junction box at the end of the shore power cord where it changes to the interior wiring (Romex)?

Did one better that hit me while I was working. An Inverter for test purposes. Ran it off my truck to the shore cord. Same thing. Except the different voltages were now the same. Still have AC in the DC system. But, No DC in the AC system. I pulled every breaker out, Unplugged everything. Disconnected both the shore neutral and ground and retested. Almost same results.

You are going to need to get the facility to fix the power to your connection point with proper wiring and connection point.
Once this is done, I believe your problems will go away.

It is a 4 receptical box. Or 2 wall receptical beside each other in the same box. It currently has 30 amp. It has 120VAC and 12VDC. However, Soon I'm converting it to 50 amo 120/240VAC.

4-way receptacle? Are you talking four individual holes in the receptacle or one receptacle with four pins? Can you see any indentification on the receptacles?
Is your park model a fifty amp power cord? Is it 120/240 park model?

This unit is stationary. Its a park model. The power comes in from a main breaker panel that I don't have any useful access to. The receptical is not a GFCI but a 4 way. I had a construction grade inline GFCI but it no longer will stay hot. It keeps tripping now. The service is a 15 amp. I do know someone who has a genset but it is too large and runs a business. The service I have here is what I've got to work with. Believe me, If I had an alternate means of power, I'd use it. Also, If I had a long enough extension cord, It would also be fed from the same breaker panel which also runs a midsize house so whatever problems may be in there could affect this unit.
