Fridge Level Important if OFF

I need to work on my rig some and I'm thinking of putting it in my driveway but my driveway has an incline. I won't power up the fridge but I need to have it there a few days. If I was going to power it up I wouldn't even consider doing it unless it was pretty level.

Will it hurt the fridge sitting unlevel for a few days if power is off? Its a std dommetic fridge...

Thanks!!

I have seen some people deliberately turn their fridge upside down ("burping") and let it sit for 24 hours, supposedly extends the life of it.

If it is off, doesn't matter, assuming nothing falls off or falls onto a coil or fins.

Doug, that might damage everything, LOL

HOW might it damage everything??????? It will not. When they ship the refers from overseas(Dometic) and when they ship and store NEW cooling units (Norcold and Dometic) they will be upside down at times. There is NOTHING that will be damaged from unlevel or even upside down as long as the refer is NEVER ON. Just make sure to let it sit 24 hours in level condition before starting it up again. Doug

It would probably damage the air conditioner and roof vents if not the roof! :B

I think how much damage would occur is directly related to what items are still inside the fridge, Doug. Beer bottles sometimes don't do well when the fridge is flipped over... :B

No, it will be fine.

Agreed, no problem. If you have things in the fridge, and it's very very much out of level, you may well have fridge problems of a different sort.
