Generac Gen Issues

UGH. Of course, the gen dies when we're in the hottest weather we've had all summer AND the dash A/C isn't cooling. We didn't discover the dash A/C problem until we were leaving on our trip!

We've run the gen & roof A/C some. I think 2-3 hours for a couple of days. Today, it fired up just fine and ran long enough for the A/C to cool us then stopped. It cranks but does not fire. We pulled out the manual which says for a full service manual to contact Generac. REALLY? A lot of help that is when we'd like a fix if possible before we melt.

It's a "Quietpact 40G" (the quiet part of that is misleading). I'm pretty sure it's the 4709-0 model.

Any suggestions on easy things to check?

Gas was above a 1/2. We seldom every let it get below 1/2. That way it doesn't cost as much to fill up. LOL!

DH is cranky and we're only 3 nights from home so I guess we'll leave early & stop early (and he can listen to me fuss. ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) He did say the oil read a little low so maybe it is the shutdown switch. Of all the extra stuff we brought, we did not bring any extra oil for the gen.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll pass them along.

Generac?

APPLY LIBERALLY

Short across low oil level shutdown switch then try it. Remove spark plug hook it to wire, lay it on metal part, crank and check for spark. Check to see if fuel pump is working. Is your gas tank full or nearly empty?
