Because when someone posts about a generator not appropriate for 95% of RVers to use on an RV forum because it's too loud/obnoxious you will get honest comments. What you don't understand is there are still some clueless folks that would buy something like this thinking it could be acceptable for normal RV use so the largely negative comments are IMO right on target for the audience reading this thread.

If you want only positive or mostly so comments then post on something like a contractors forum where noise is not an issue.

Geeze Larry...

Thanks you for permission to use my generator at Walmart. I wondered who was in charge.

I will make a deal with all the Sound Police. I will not operate my generator where you will hear it if you will reciprocate. Fair enough? Probably not for those who get angry just seeing a generator in the bed of a pickup that is not like theirs. Just because one model is quieter than another does not mean we like to hear it. One man's purr is another man's roar. No sound is better than no sound.

X2 and if you buy it please don't camp near me.

So, just buying makes one an undesirable? Whether he runs it or not? You folks are really something. I doubt that the OP wants to camp with people like that anyway.

I have hauled all kinds of generators for thousands of miles and never had one complaint. As Kenny Rogers would say, "You gotta know when to run them, gotta know when to stow them".

If you own the Walmart that I am parked at, simply tell me to shut mine off. I will move on.
Did you notice there was a question mark? We don't have a clue what or where the generator would be used for.

Even the OP's reply gave no clue except he already has a generator.
So really just running a sales advertisement here on RV.net.

And yes I would be annoyed if you ran that in a campground anywhere near me. You probably would not hear from me either as I also believe in tolerance and freedom. I don't really care what you do at WM as I don't camp there.

68 dB is pretty loud. Normal voice conversation is 60 dB and the scale doubles for every 10 dB so 68 dB is pretty close to shouting or about as loud as a vacuum cleaner. I would be looking for something quieter if I was going to be around other people. The Honda 3000W is only 58 dB at rated load and 49 dB at 1/4 load but they are NOT cheap.
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?

Sorry 4400w aka 4375

10 hrs at 50% will still carry the A/C for 10 hrs

No triple tanks of gas used
I can explain it to you.
But I Can Not understand it for you !

You might fit right at Rest Stop on truck pad, although newer diesels are quieter as well.
California made a law forbidding long idling and guess what kind of generators are truckers mounting on their rigs?
But noise aside, "Runs 10 hours at 50% load from a 4-gal. fuel tank"
That means you need to fill it up 3 x a day and have lot of cans if you plan to camp for few days.
On my Honda EU3000 the 3 gallon tank last 24 hr on average day, or 13 hr running 15k AC constantly.
Food for toughs.

How do people know how me or the OP are going to run our generators? I never need to run my generator 24 hours in a row. That is why God invented mountains and man invented shore power. How do the truckers keep their refrigerated trailers cool without making any noise?

I have a Honda eu2000i and it is a nice little 1,600 watt generator. I like having 3,500 watts available when I need it. Your Walmarts must be quieter than the dozens I have visited. NOBODY notices my generator running. Not the semis, not the boom boxes, not the squealing tires, not the loud mufflers, not the street sweepers.

As far as fuel economy, If one wants to produce 3,000 watts of power, there is not a whole lot of difference between inverter and non-inverter generators. The big difference comes when demand is low enough to take advantage of the economy mode. I might use four gallon a week when traveling, so the savings is not important. An hour here and and an hour in your Walmart, is about it.

What 7000W generator are you talking about?

I think you math is wrong
7000w , 50% load 3500w
Typical a/c 1600/1800w in hot weather
So that's 1/4 load
20 hrs on one tank, his mileage may vary
But he sure is not going to need three tanks a day

always a discouraging word available here
I can explain it to you.

But the difference is you are considerite of others. Sorry but in my experence most people don't even think about the CAMPGROUND RULES are even care. Yes I own a Champion 4000 watt open frame Gen. that I bought years ago when $$$ was tight. But I guarentee I never bothered one person with it. Now I have a Yamaha 1000 stowed in my basement just in case. But I also have a 3400 watt Champion inverter/Gen only used for A/C as my 400 watt solar and 4 6v GC batteries, and 2000 watt inverter handle most of my needs. I'm really not knocking the OP's post. I just think that what he is putting out there is not exactly ground breaking news, and not something that most people would use for camping.
