Haier Residential Fridge Reliability

We're considering a fifth wheel with a Haier 15 cu. ft. residential fridge option. Would like to hear good/bad experiences with this brand in RVs. The other option is a 4 door 12.5 cu. ft. (Dometic I think) gas/electric fridge, and would take comments on that as well.

Thanks for the replies--we're going with the Haier.

Love the humor! Yes, the Haier is about $450 less expensive, bigger, and nice looking. We don't dry camp and a pair of golf cart batteries should keep it going for days. Just wanted to get some confidence in Haier--sounds like we'really getting it. Thanks.

I carry a Haier in the basement. Works like a champ. Puts the Dometic in the camper to shame. Wish I had a residential fridge inside. Plus, the residential should keep your ice cream frozen.

Had a Haier ~10ft in our previous 5er. Was about a year old when we got it, used for another 5yrs without problems.

I have a Dometic gas/electric fridge in the motorhome in my sig. It's 16 years old and never a problem.

I also have a Haier apartment fridge, 1.7 cubic feet, in a compartment for about 10 years and still works fine after the abuse it has had....cold, hot and bouncing all over the country. I would recommend the brand.

I've had one for 6/7 years, 10.5 cf, has worked great. If you do a lot of off grid rv'ing, think twice about it. I certainly hope it's lot cheaper to go with the residential than the gas?

These posts with Haier in them may help.
