Honda Genny vs Champion

Honda specs say 58db at rated load. Meaning, when it is running your air...

Champion, for half the money, says (model 75531i) says 58db. Does NOT say 'at rated load". (like Honda)

I read a review (only one in about a dozen) that said it was LOUD when at rated load.

Anyone have experience with the Champion?

I have the "non RV" champion. It is a champ, but loud.

Half the money for the champion is enticing, but I am ready for quiet.

Thanks

The rest of the story

You did not read all the specs on the Champion #75531i.

Under features it says it is rated 58dB at 23 FEET.

The Honda EU3000isA is rated 58dB at 9 FEET.

According to Honda's spec book the 58dB at 9 feet is at rated load.

For those who say "use search" The search filter in many forums, This one included, is kind of a PITA (Pain in the anatomy) for many.

I would recommend the big boys, Honda or Yahama myself.. Champion inverter generators are usually good, but quality control is not all that fantastic. And a bad voltage regulator for example.. Can do harm.

First of all the Champion is not as quiet as the Honda, but it's not bad and is fairly quiet, quiet enough to use at a campground. A lot of members on this forum use the Champion inverter gennys and are satisfied. Champion seems to have good customer support too.

BTW, the Honda is 58db with econo idle on, not 58db at full throttle where it's considerably louder.

Even though we use and love the Honda eu powerplant currently.

I wouldn't rule out the Champ 3000 watt.
They look like great gensets.
I've had two of the 3500\4000 watt regular Champions and enjoyed the low price for quality.

On a side note I broke the flywheel on my last Champion.
I called the help phone number stickered on the generator.
Someone in Chatsworth CA answered speaking english.
I asked for a replacement and it arrived 3 days later for $12.00!

I would have purchased the Champion, but I don't like to make enemies. We bought a Yamaha. Going to sell that this week and buy a more powerful one for our new FW - yes, we'll stay with Yamaha.

Your correct but:
What if everyone used the search feature? We wouldn't have a thing to look forward to and the list obviously would die because of lack of interest and interaction. Make sense???? ๐Ÿ™‚

They sure are pricey, but if you want quiet, Honda or Yamaha are the way to go.
