Hot water heater troubles.

I didnโ€™t want to highjack the other post about โ€œAtwood water heater issuesโ€ , but my hot Atwood water heater is giving me troubles as well.
It is a DSI , what is happening is that the heater will turn on fine, then when the water is at temperature it shuts off like it suppose to, then after about being off for about 5-10 minutes it fires back up for another 2 minutes, it does does this until it trips ( red light illuminates) . I flick the switch of and on but it trips right away.
Then I would let it sit for 8 hours or so and when I flick the switch back on it will not fire up , the red light goes on right away, then when I flick the switch on off, on off for like 20 times it finally fires up.

I have replaced the temperature sensors, I cleaned the gas valve solenoid. The only thing that I have not replaced is the control board.
Could it be that it is the control board?
The heater is in a โ€˜93 airstream and to me it all looks original.

I would not run out and by new circuit board without doing some testing.
If you decide to replace the circuit board, I would suggest a Dinosaur Electronics version.

Make sure the ECO and thermostat are tight to the tank.
It is possible that the ECO is tripping out and not the thermostat.
There is also a thermal fuse under a piece of tubing adjacent to the ECO. make sure the connections are clean and tight.
