How to test auxiliary batteries for amperage?

I need a way to test a pair of six volt Trojan 105's wired in series and setting in my shop.
Has anyone a method of amp testing batteries that are on the bench?
I can't think of anything 12 volt that will pull a lot of current that is readily available to use as a test load.

Just like testing a 12 volt battery. A giant resistor, a period of time to apply the load, and a way to read the voltage. Oh thats right, its called a load tester.

Wluldn't an accurate hydrometer reading work?
