Just got back from a 2 week trip to Mt. Rushmore and had a great time! Only problem was rainy days we had to watch movies in black and white! We tried everything with no success. The TV is LG LED and the DVD player is the factory Jensen AWM965 combo unit. Everything works as it should just in black and white. Anybody ever come across this?

I am having this same problem. Can't wait to get home and try and fix this. Was pretty funny watching movies in B&W.

Had the same problem. Talked to Crossroads, no help. Talked to Jensen and they had a guess that ending up being correct. On my Toshiba tv it had component inputs. That is where you have 3 jacks for the video input and 2 for the audio. The Jensen AWM965 only has a composite output. ie: 1 yellow cable for the video. So for the 3 video inputs on the tv make sure its plugged into the green input. Than I had to go into the tv menu and in the tools was an option to switch the tv's video input from component to composite. Works perfect. Hope your LG is the same

Thanks, I could not remember which component color input (green). As I stated, if you do NOT tell the TV to make that Green input the Yellow for composite, the TV will show only Black and White. Doug

Don't know if your audio cables are also wrong like on my Crossroads but I couldn't play the TV through my ceiling speakers only DVDs . Turns out on the AMW965 the video jack is an output the the 2 audio jacks on the Jensen are inputs. The factory had hooked the Jensen to the TV inputs instead of the TV outputs. Switched and now the tv can play through the ceiling speakers.

Ah shucks, you inadvertently selected the Jensen model especially designed for "Film Noirs".

Hope this put a smile on your face ๐Ÿ™‚

If the TV has color and the DVD only B&W when tried on several televisions, I'm sure Jensen would be amicable about making things right for you. Please post your outcome as I really use experiences in determining what products to avoid,

Best of Luck

I have seen this when either composite or component cables are not connected properly, but you state that you have tried "everything", so you must have a bad player.

CHECK the TV set up. Some LCD TV's, the DVD Jensen uses a YELLOW video output to the TV, CHECK the back of the TV and see if you have a YELLOW Video input. Some of the TV's do NOT have a Yellow Video input. That means you MUST go into the TV set up and make one of the RGB component inputs the Yellow Video input. Kind of confusing since most TV's have the Yellow video input jack seperate. If you do NOT set the TV to that, it will show in black and white. Doug
