Magic Chef oven wont get very hot....

I have a 2007 Arctic Fox 22M with a Magic Chef oven. The pilot light will light up with ease, and the oven burner will light, but the flame seems weak. I left the oven on for about an hour or so at an indicated 450 degrees (on the knob), but it barely got to 300 degrees, and it took a while to get there. I replaced the propane regulator, thinking it might be a pressure issue, but that was not the case. Both propane tanks are topped off, and all other propane items work great (stove top burners, heater, refrigerator). Any ideas on what I should check next? Thanks!

all it takes in the orfice is a piece of spider web. I've had the oven and fridge orfice look completely clear, but still restrictive until I blew compressed air through the orfice, then everything worked fine. gas pressure is only 0.5 (yes 1/2psi). it doesn't take much to restrict flow with that low of pressure.

BTW if the stove burners work fine, then you have adequate pressure from the regulator.

I pulled the burner and checked the orifice, no blockage. I turned out the adjustment screw about a half turn which definitely increased the flame size, but now it just shuts off while I'm warming it up. I ran it back in about a quarter turn and am giving it another go.

Welcome to the forum inderocker.
The problem can be anything from a restricted main burner orifice to a thermostat needing adjustment. Carefully remove the burner orifice and see if anything is in there. Spiders love to build nests in that area. While measuring the oven temp., carefully open up the bypass screw on the thermostat a little at a time to get a larger main burner flame. This is a time consuming process but if the orifice is clean than the thermostat is where your problem would be.
Good luck.

Oven thermostat control (unit under stove top that pilot/oven burner tubes comes from---knob turns on) ie: Pressure regulator
