Mineral Spirits Source (Texas)?

I'm trying to find a local source (south-central) Texas, for 5 gallon cans of mineral spirits for my parts washer. Yes I know there's some similar stuff available on-line but I'm trying to avoid shipping costs. The quart and 1 gallon containers are generally too expensive. If you have a national retailer in your area that may be here in the San Antonio area that information might help too.

I checked Sherwin-Williams online. They want $87.59 for a 5 gallon can. That's $17.50/gallon! Heck, Wal*mart wants $13.97 for a gallon can.

Wow that's way more than I used to sell it for.. but then it's been like 40 years.

Here is one more price you might find interesting.. Local eatery has a sign proudly proclaming you can get a 16.9 oz bottle of water. YES water for $1.69

That is 12.80/gallon folks. (And you thought fuel was expensive)

Zoro.com is offering 1 gallon mineral spirits for $9.92. If you go over $50 (6 gallons) the shipping is free.

I would think if you're going to all the expense and trouble of filling a parts washer, you'd use either Stoddard solvent or one of the newer citrus based parts cleaners.
If you really just want a cheap solvent, I guess you could buy kerosene.

Lowes has it in my area. also the auto parts stores usually have it. Tractor supply too. Some places just call it paint thinner.

Try a paint store.. I do not know about paint stores today but back when dinosaurs walked the earth (perhaps I exaggerate slightly) I worked in a paint store and as I recall that was a product we sold.

Mineral spirits is used as a paint thinner......among other things.
Look for a paint store in your area, like Sherwin Williams for example.
Or a paint wholesaler.
Find out where auto body shops in your area get their stuff from.

WOW! service calls are now insane. They reclaim used solvent now. Diesel 3.50 gallon, petroleo (kerosene) 4.40 gallon and it is yellow, and next to impossible to find down here. Sixty seven dollar drum deposit.

Time to go home and swallow 17 pills and capsules.

I feel your pain
Used to be that I could get parts washer "Solvent" in bulk @ $2.00/gallon
Now that the EPA has arrived it costs $65.00 for 5 gallons and I get 20 gallons or more at a time
Try 76 Union Solvent it's good stuff but expensive

Chemical Supply Store? Chevron or Shell products distributor? Good God when I visited at Lake Jackson the entire coastline was plugged with Chemical Plants and refineries.
