Norcold Fridge not working

Hello All,

I am having a problem with my Norcold fridge.

It works great on LPG and on shore power the freezer gets cold but not the fridge. I have power to the unit as evidenced by the freezer working.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

The tstat will not be a factor if the refer operates on LP but malfunctions on 120. Doug
So what may be the problem Doug? You have a lot more experience with this stuff than I do.

As I said before, everything works great on LPG but after leaving it plugged in all afternoon the freezer was frozen and the fridge was getting cold, just much slower.

Normal???

What time frame on 120? You state all afternoon. The BTU's from 120 and LP are the same. It takes 24 hours to verify the final refer cold operation. Doug

My bad, I read it as not working correctly on either.
If it works correctly on LPG, then I agree - not the cooling unit.
It could be the control board, the thermostat or the electric element.

The model number could be of help but generally, this time of year, the unit cant get ride of the heat. When you use LP you raise the temp of the fluid which helps cooling. It about temperature differences. Fans added to the outside cooling process changes the temp diff. Gets rid of the heat better to cool better.

So if it's not a bad unit, what could it be? I'm at a campground now with the same problem. Same brand.

How old is the fridge?
All the symptoms of a failed cooling unit I'm afraid!
Exactly what happened to mine. I just installed an Arcticold replacement unit and it is working perfectly.

Add cooling fans to the back.
