Onan 4000 gen

I am having a problem starting my generator I have noticed that when i press the start switch it turns over but it is not pumping gas to the carburetor I took it apart down to where the gas pump was and applied power the pump was working just fin so i am stump on why it is not pumping gas from the switch could the switch be bad or is there something ells that controls the pump.

If you have the owner manual it will describe PRIME. If not try this... From outside take the access cover off. Push Start.Stop switch to STOP and hold it in STOP. The Pump should run till carb is full. I do this every start attempt.
Please try this and report back.

See if this link will work if not I'll post it a different way.
Pull the gas hose off of carb point it in a bucket then push start switch and turn it over and see if you get gas . Or if it has the prime on that switch try it .
If you get gas out of hose then look at your cut off solenoid at the bottom of carb.

It is a Onan 4000 Generator and it's not pumping gas when switch is pressed. but the pump runs when you apply power directly to it.

sorry it is a 1996 Fleetwood Southwind Storm model number on gen is 4KYFA26100E.
