Running wires down the refer vent pipe

I need to run wires for a sat dish from the rook to the inside of the RV. Is it OK to run them down the refrigerator vent pipe? Is there a better way short of drilling a hole in the roof?

No problems. There is no "pipe" usually. The vent is just a superstructure sitting on a big hole in the roof. Under this hole there are guts of the fridge "radiator", they are hot so stay clear of those.

Easy from roof end but at the bottom the fridge sits on a wooden platform which is above, say, where the power centre is that includes the converter and fuse panels.

You take off the vent cover on the side of the RV which is at the bottom end of the roof vent, and drill a hole in that wooden platform--BUT FIRST--check below that to see where you are going to drill a hole will not drill into something important like your converter 🙂

So now you have your wires into the compartment under the fridge and you can go from there. Or you might be able to go sideways into another cabinet beside the fridge but there is almost no room at the sides at the back of the fridge.

I'd make sure the wires run down the side opposite the chimney for the refrig.

I have run alot of things down behind the fridge from the roof. I may have managed to make a 16-lane highway for LADY BUGs getting in the trailer as well... Never had them until I installed a SAT DISH on the roof and ran those wires down the fridge vent tubes.

It is OK, but run the wires on the opposite side of the Burner chimney. The burner Chimney will be on your RIGHT (always) when standing outside staring in from the outside access door. That keeps the wires from having to worry about heat and melting. Doug

refrigerator vent pipe is perfect. That's what I use for the solar panel wires.

Many RV'ers that add on devices to the roof will use the refrig vent or one of the vent pipes for the holding tanks to run wires. Just make sure you seal the openings where the wires go in and come out of the vent pipes.
