Synthetics in a diesel pusher

Was just wondering, has anyone run Amsoil or similar products in a diesel? I use it in our sprinter and it seems to be ok, was wondering if there is any advantage to using it in our cat motor.

Good oil at a reasonable price.....for every type of engine.
Originally formulated for diesels.

But don't look for SHELL on the label; it is in the fine print.
The brand is Rotella.

Well I ran it for one oil change until Amsoil announced that they no longer claim longer periods in between oil changes for diesel engines.

I was told by a Cummins mechanic it was ok to use synthetic oil but as long as the oil gets changed as required, my old 5.9 12 valve is going to outlive the motorhome anyway.

As long as the oil is approved by the vehicle manufacturer....

I'll bet your engine doesn't care which oil is in it so long as it's approved and is changed at proper intervals.

Diesel engine manufacturers are touchy about which oil makes their engines look best.

If you want THE BEST

I had disaster after disaster with Amzoil. Now it is not allowed within my eyesight. My toad uses Castrol 5W-30 and Quicksilver uses Delo 15W-40.

I use synthetic in my diesel 3/4T truck because I put a lot of miles on it, push it hard, pull heavy loads and have to start it at times sitting out at -30F when I come back from snowmachine riding for several days.

I don't use synthetic engine oil in my DP with a C7 because I don't push it hard, I don't start it in cold weather (it spends the winters in AZ), it's never come close to overheating and I only put 4 - 7,000 miles on it a year.
