Using 1 Battery only

Howdy Folks. No dry camping planned this summer. My new rig has room and wiring for 2 batteries. Looking to save some $. Will anything bad happen if I just use one battery? (besides shorter amount of 12v ) Thank you

OP Here - My bad. Should have clarified. Planning to run 1 coach battery instead of 2. Engine/Start battery in place. Class C. 2003 Winnebago Mini 24' V10. Planning to remove the short cables that allowed for 2 coach batteries.

Just re-read your OP. If you mean your Class C is wired for 2 coach batteries, it will be fine with only one coach battery.

However, if you mean it is wired for one coach battery and one chassis battery, 2 batteries, you probably need them both.

RJ I don't quite understand your post.

I been running with one batt for years. The Ford has an isolator relay but i pull the plug at night to make sure all is well with the TV batt in the morning, :h

Yes ! After watching tv 1/2 the nite, and your big block won't quite crank over in the morning after you were unexpectedly forced to make a stay at WM, then it'll be a slight problem.
Oh, this is not a MH ?? Kinda hard to know that.

Make sure that the unused connectors are well insulated so they won't cause any shorts.

The way I used to save money was not leaving my wallet on the bed while taking a shower.

Only if you opt for a six volt battery.

No problems at all. If you find you need more capacity and/or less cash, you can always add a second 12V battery at a later time.

Having extra capacity really only matters if you are boondocking.
