Suburban uses separate set of T_stats for electric and propane.
Both sets are 'pre-set for same temps (t-stat Opens at 130*F and closes at 100*F)

So if temp is 'hot' (100*F-130*F) both t-stats will be open and no heating from either source will occur.

What happened was....I had the electric portion on....and the water was to hot to make the propane fire up. Run the waterthru the taps till I used a lot of hot water which then got cool enough to let the propane fire up. Dumb me!!!

Thanks for sharing the "solution". I'll file that one away in the data banks. Hopefully I can remember it if ever needed.

It would help us all if you explained what got it going. Thanks.

For propane....it does not even attempt to light....no clicks!!! Checked all connections and still nothing. No red light comes for the switch ib the control panel. What a pain to get to the control board....take panel off inside the basement....wiggle your way in behind the furnace to get to the back of the water heater....geez.......what a design that is!!

That is NOT fault of Suburban.that is directly due to RV MFGs installation and not propviding access.
Thank them.

Have you done ANY testing on where you have DC and where you DON'T?

Could be No DC to Switch
Could be bad switch
Could be wire nut problem in DC Junction Box
Could be bad T-stats..or wiring on t-stats
Could be connection to circuit board

Simple voltmeter and follow the DC circuit

suburbans are notorious for doing that. my tech came to my house for that reason and he wiggled a wire and the unit took right off. it was a connection thing

Before jumping to conclusions......do a little testing

Use voltmeter and check for 12VDC at the t-stats (under the cover above gas valve...right side is the 12VDC set for the propane)
DC comes from battery/dc dist fused source to the top t-stat (RED Wire) then goes to bottom t-stat via connection wire)
Got DC to top and out bottom then check for it at the circuit board.

No DC..then problem is back at On/Off switch OR from FUSED source.

Suburban rarely have issues with the circuit boards

ATWOOD DID Have for several years (2016 - 2018) due to change in vendor (Zhongding)

Little DC testing will pin point the issue quickly. THen you can buy/fix what is broken vs throwing parts at it

AFAIK, the switch is before the board, so first you should pull the switch with its red light, jumper the switch wires (not the light's) and see if that makes it all work.

Next is the connection of the wires to/from the switch and board at the board. I had an Atwood where that was the problem. Unplugged and plugged back to the board, which cleaned the contacts, and then the red light at the switch came on and everything worked.

All stove burners light....turn the gas water switch on......does not attempt to light.....red light does not come on. Have pretty much figured out the control board is bad. Did try the reset........no luck there also. Will order a new control board.2018 Montana HC...2 years old. Thinking the board is behind the convenience center.....will clean the basement storage out so I can remove the panel out so I can see if it is back there.
