Water Pressure

Greetings All!
My inline water filter canister broke at the threads. I replaced the canister and replaced the filter at the same time.
Since the repairs, we have very, very little water pressure. I've taken the canister out, turned over the filter and replaced them...still very little pressure. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help...my DW would appreciate it too, lol!

Any chance the filter cartridge was installed upside down?

Glad to hear your problem has been resolved.

FWIW; the 'pressure' was exactly the same. What worsened was the flow rate or gpm (gallons per minute). Pressure is measured with no fixtures running, (aka static pressure) in pounds. Your pressure gauge will tell you if you have a pressure problem. Flow rate is measured in gallons per minute. If the pressure remains normal, the loss of flow rate is indicative of a blockage or partial blockage as advised. Loss of pressure would be a pump problem if using your tanks, or outside the rig if hooked to city water.

Thus is is wise to check the pressure before checking for a blockage.

Hey guys...went back and pulled the new filter out of the canister and we have quite a bit more pressure. Not sure WHY the new filter is cutting the water flow, but guess I will pick up a new one in the morning. Thanks again for all the input!

So with hose not connected to RV how is water flow/pressure thru filter?
Is it time for your medication or mine?

Took the broken canister to the dealership and got a replacement. Same numbers, etc...didn't have to replumb anything, just screwed the new canister to the Old top.

Can you bypass the filter? That would isolate if the problem is with the filter or somewhere else in the water system.

Also are you sure you bought the correct replacement canister? Just because it threads on does not mean it has the correct number and size of holes for proper flow.

Okay guys...checked the water hose, made sure the screen was clean on the city water inlet...and all seems to be normal there!

Thanks for the help! I will check the hose first. I just unscrewed the broken threads and put a new canister and filter on...turned the water back on and no pressure, lol! Always seems to happen to me, lol!

Disconnect hose from RV and isolate where restriction is

Check the city water inlet screen for debris

With hose disconnected turn on water supply.

Does the filter holder have a bypass valve? If so, make sure it's fully in the "filter" position, and not between settings.
