12v water pump intermittent

Hello, I own a good 004/keystone cougar and throughout the day, the water pump runs for almost a second with none of the faucets turned on.

I cannot find any leaks around the faucets that are visible. The only one I can't check is the shower.

Does anyone have any trouble shooting suggestions?? Do I need a new water oump?

Could you please send me the repair kit you used??

Also check your city water hose fitting outside. A bad check here can cause the problem as well.

Another place is the low point drains under the trailer, check to make sure the caps are on tight and not leaking. Also, how much water is in the fresh water tank? I was using all my water up last weekend and when the tank was effectively empty the pump was sucking air and continuing to run.

I thought I had a leak under the bathroom sink but it appears it was just run off from the sink around edge of faucet.

I think I'll just get this kit and install it and see what happens. I'll know in two weeks.

This is the most likely problem. It is simple to install the new diaphrams, it only takes about 20 minutes to complete the task.

Another place people do not check for leaks is the toilet. It would be possible for the inlet valve to leak a little water into the toilet, and this can seep into the drain line if that is leaking as well.

Third location is the outside shower. If both handles are off, then likely not the location.

You probably already opened and looked around the water heater?

There is also the fresh water fill valve that allows shore water into the fresh water tank while in a campground. If not tightly closed, it will allow the pump to run a bit too.

Good luck,

Fred.

Sorry for the typo.

Actually upon further inspection I can see a little bit of water under the bathroom sink.

I may just replace all of the fittings from the floor to the faucets. What's the best place to get the plastic water line fittings. I believe it's the cpvc water lines. Pics to come later today.

Other thoughts on not replacing all???

If you have an outside shower, check the valves to make sure they are completely closed.

That or the non-return valve in the pump is leaking down.
