That is a good question. They are considerably taller.
High for sure! I rented one a month ago and it had no side bars to get in the cab. Even being a long legged 6 footer, I had to jump up every time to get in. I can't imagine the hard time someone shorter would have. I could not just reach over the side of the bed to grab anything either.
Yes it is something you have to be aware of. My trailer was already raised for my old 08 and had a lot of bed clearance. I had to raise the hitch a little and was able to get 7" of clearance. Trailer rides and pulls really good.

Mine is a "17" - F250 Lariat supercab, powerstroke, black & chrome. It's well set up for towing my Grand Design 313RLTS. Only in my dreams... I actually have the same set up in 2016, I guess I should have waited, but I needed the truck last year for a tax purposes and the extra weight of the trailer. However, I'm really disappointed with the warmed over 18 year-old body style. Come next year there will be another new truck in the yard.
