2023 Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon

I really like the new Chevy Colorado and the partial front end view of the new GMC Canyon. Also, GM dumped the diesel option for these Chevy's and very likely for the GMC too.

With Ford in the process of releasing the new Ranger, Stellantis Dakota your next!

Enjoy...

BTW... I sure would rather have one of these mid-size trucks over a full size EV truck.

Here's the new GMC... This thing sets up pretty high and looks big.

At 6'3" I would much prefer the Colorado mid size for the additional space.

Here's some more intel from GM's engineer. Looks like the Colorado will have 3 versions of the 2.7 engine from the full size Silverado with the top of the line engine will have 390 ft lbs of torque.

Too bad about the diesel, although I imagine the take rate wasn't super high. We'll see what Stellantis or whatever they are calling themselves this week will do. They introduced the first American midsize pickup in the 80s with the Dakota (the old Toyota Stout IMO was the first true midsize pickup sold in the US). In the 80's the S10 and Ranger were just barely bigger than the more refined and reliable Japanese compacts. It seemed like Dodge discontinued the Dakota at a time where they could have really taken the market by storm with it. It will also be interesting to see if GM or Stellantis have an answer to Ford's wildly successful Maverick pickup.

Diesel still might be an option for the smaller trucks.
