Saw ad on tv over the weekend for Chevy's '18 Silverado all clad in black. At 1st I thought it was for Ford as the grill clad had shape of the oval (this is that part for title topic). Then when the rear bumper steps and metal floor came out, knew then it was for GM. Isn't GM however going over to alum body?

GM is planning on staying with a steel bed but use Al. for the exterior panels.

And sets them down carefully. They are also usually stacked on a pallet.

Ide love to see the customers face when he gets his load ruined bricks. "No good! Take them back!" LOL

When I watch the ad, I see it as them differentiating the aluminum bed from their steel bed. Not anything else really to do with aluminum.

We had a hail storm earlier this year that totaled my wife car, mainly due to all the aluminum panels - hood, roof, trunk deck. They needed to be replaced instead of repaired.

I know Al is the future of cars, but that doesn't mean you have to like it.

I believe GM will go aluminum to save weight and up MPG. SAR is right..load a PU and not protect the bed? Crazy.

For all the badmouthing GM does about aluminum bodies, that would be interesting...
