Aspen Trail Reviews

This is my first post since last summer when I started looking for a travel trailer. Being a tall guy I wanted a true 60X80 queen bed and bunk beds. I originally was leaning towards the Cruiser Viewfinder 28BHOB. However, I recently came across the Aspen Trail 2810BHS. It has the 60X80 queen and pretty much the same floor plan as the Cruiser but over it's over $10,000 cheaper. Granted it's aluminum siding vs. fiberglass but we looked at it today and liked the interior.

I did a search but not much came up. Any reviews on the line?

Hi Ed,

I don't have an Aspen Trail, but my TT was upgraded to a solid surface counter.

Pros - This upgrade also meant our sink is under-hung so wiping debris from the counter into the sink is super easy. With the sink covers in place everything is at the same level. {Tip, we store the sink covers in the oven once we are at the campsite}

Cons - The dinette table is their standard surface (good because it is lighter, bad because it isn't as nice). The solid surface does show small scratches. Bathroom counter is also their standard material.

I have the solid surface counters not seen any without one so I can't compare the two. I would definitely get the power jack. I have the jack knife couch and its okay for kids but an adult is not going to sleep on it comfortably. I would also ask for the SAN-T-FLUSH for your black tank. The only other thing I can think of is by looking online it looks like none of them come with a porch light might want to ask if they could add one, you will not always have your awning open to use the awning LED.

Thanks for the positive replies. I really like the trailer for the money. We have a RV show near me this weekend so the family and I will be going. But honestly, unless something really grabs our attention it looks like I'll be ordering a new 2810BHS.

Do any of you guy's have the optional solid surface counters? I'm thinking they would be a good option along with the power front jack and "real" sofa with bed. Input???

I haven't needed to repair anything with our Aspen Trail 2710BH that wasn't something I broke myself. I did have the spare tire replaced under warranty because it wasn't the same size as the rest of the tires. Ours was peculiar in that there was no bathroom vent/fan installed. Other versions did, who knows why mine didn't have one installed. I put a Fantastic Vent in and it was a great "addition".

Our recent purchase decision came down to the Aspen Trail and the model we ended up buying. We didn't pick the Aspen Trail, but not because we found anything wrong with it. It was actually a little nicer than what we bought. It came down mostly to differences in the bunk room layout that were purely just preferences. We'd have been just as happy with the Aspen Trail.

I own a 2014 Aspen Trail 2810BHS and love it. You get alot for the money and haven't any problems out of it. Except a power tongue jack LED light, and replaced lock cylynder. The only complaint I have with mine is there is no outside porch light. I guess since there is an led strip across the awning they didn't think it needed one. I will be adding one pretty soon. I went to Hershey RV show and I couldn't find anything that matched it for the money. I bought mine from RV Value Mart in pennsylvania good dealership.

I'm not sure if the lack of post's is a good or bad thing?

I believe we bought it new in 2012. No major issues. We flipped the axles right away so it could be driven more easily into the areas we like to dry camp.

Thanks for the reply Ed. How long have you had your Aspen Trail for? Any issue's?

From it's price point I figured it was considered a budget unit. 11 years ago I purchased a new Wildcat fifth wheel and to me the fit and finish was the same between the new Aspen Trail and my Wildcat. I'm just looking for a decent rig to go on family trips with. Considering my kid's ages of 11 & 8 I figure I'll have this unit for 5-6 years total.

Hello Ed. I'm also Ed and own an Aspen Trail 2710BH. I've only used one other TT, so I don't have a lot to compare to. But Aspen Trail is a bit of a budget TT. But to be honest I haven't encountered anything with mine that makes me regret purchasing it.
