Awning rail insert

On the road and back side of my trailer I have a rain gutters with extensions, on the curb side I have an awning rail front to back. My trailer is 24' long but with only a 14' awning. The 5' in front and to the rear of the awning is just open track where I get terrible black streaks. Has anyone ever tried anything similar to this or have another solution?

That is where I got the idea to use the Welt, same idea different track.

Some awning rails don't have the build in gutters. Mine does not, for example. Anything past the 16' awning just runs down the side of the TT.

My awning rails runs the full length of my rig. Wish it had a full length awning. 😄

I think I understand, thanks. I question if it will work since now there is just less room in the gutter and more will just run on over faster. However, sometimes water flows a path and if that is the case, it may flow to the end of the bead. Hope it works, please keep us informed.

We have gutter scoops on the end of the awning track, just like the corners of the trailer.

Basically, the round end goes in the awning rail and the flat part will hang out from the TT an inch or so. Give a "lip" for the water to drop off of instead of running down the sides of the camper...

He's wants to reduce the black streaks, caused by rain water run off.

If I understand correctly, you want to slide the beaded end into the track to fill the space in the track where the awning does not cover. I think your track will still hold water, just not in the amount it holds now

Thanks so much for posting about that welt. I've been looking for it and found that I can get it at a local shop. I'm going to use it for an awning and not for a gutter extension. I don't see why it wouldn't work for that purpose, though

I have the same problem on my Spree. I would be interested to know how that works.

It's called Vinyl Beaded Welt as far as I can tell. It's the piece of vinyl/plastic that is sewn to the top of an awning.

That's not a bad idea, what kind of trim is that?
