Since this OP is obviously a newbie I merely pointed out that although they have every right to access water from a community spigot just as anyone else does they don't have the right to permanently connect to that water supply. Using a quick disconnect or a Y ensures that others will have ready access to this same supply. It's not rocket science. :R
you are learning, and that is good. a quick disconnect which is what you originally stated is meaningless if somebody else wants to hook up a hose. a Wye as I suggested would avoid some issues. but leaving something screwed onto the spigot be it a hose or quick disconnect preventing somebody else from easily hooking up is discourteous.
but obviously you will never admit what everybody else in this thread states, you are in the wrong.

Me? I would disconnect your hose, toss it in the mud and leave it there.

I think toss it in the mud would be a good solution for a quick connect that I had to remove to hook up my hose.

Hi Bumpyroad,
I had those and thought they were the cat's meow. Unfortunately each of mine developed pin hole leaks. Probably my own fault for not using a pressure regulator.Bumpyroad wrote:
I did buy a semi-flat/oval standard plastic hose once that was easier to roll up and store however.

Zero-G ......Been using one for years. We have a 25’ that is sufficient almost all of the time, but have an extra 50’ one for other times.
I have just started using one of these and really like it. So far it's held up well.pianotuna wrote:
Hi,
I use this type of hose:
I had bought a set of four 10' of these hose. I used the daily for over a year, maybe 2 and within about 4 weeks- all of them ended up springing leaks. Was weird- not even at the same campground.

Reconsider staying attached to water in favor of filling with water and using your water pump. Less chance of a burst RV water pipe and flooding.

BTW, I have been in that situation and I carry a 2.5 gallon container that I use to ferry water from the community spigot.

You know very well that many people won't come looking for who ever has his permanent connection on there and they'll just move on. Your counting on that.

Beyond that, I don't think you have the ability to understand how rude your actions are - even when it's pointed out by multiple people here.

Really not very considerate of your fellow campers and hopefully you wouldn't do it next time.
What gives you or anyone else more right to hook up a hose to a road side water source than me? :h Using a quick disconnect fitting on my own hose allows those who may come along with a bucket or pan or pot or whatever to grab a few gallons rather than have to wait til I'm done filling my trailer tank ... I'd call that being courteous on my part. If you come along with a hose to your own trailer you can wait your turn, just as I might have also had to do. It ain't rocket science. :S

If you are going to hook up simply add a faucet for others to use.
