Bullet 269rls with F150...Need your thoughts...New to this

I have been looking at TT's for some time now. My wife and I like the rear living setup. I drive an F150 and the yellow sticker in my door jamb indicates the max passenger and cargo weight is 1722. I added a tonneau cover to my truck that weighs about 120. After accounting for passengers and what I think we will have in the back of the truck, we have about 850-900 pounds for the trailer tongue weight.

We almost purchased a Jayco 27RLS, but the trailer dry weight was 6800 and hitch weight was 725. The max loaded weight of the trailer was around 8600. When I did the math, it didn't look like it would work. All of these dealers ONLY look at the max trailer tow weighting on the truck. They look at me like I am crazy for wanting to stay within the limits set on the truck.

We looked at the Keystone Bullet 269RLS this week. It is similar in setup to the Jayco, but it weights significantly less. The hitch weight is 585 and the dry weight of the trailer is around 5,200 pounds. The max loaded trailer weight is around 7500 pounds.

Two questions. Will my F150 be OK to haul the Bullet? Does anyone have any feedback on the Bullet 269rls?

Seems to me. You are good to go. As long as you don t want a golf cart in the bed

We will almost always only have two passengers when we camp. We will occasionally have a third person, and we will be very close, if not over, when the third person is with us. If that is a problem, then we will only take it with two people and maybe drive a second car.

I think it's doable but your tongue weight will go up after adding propane and a battery (or batteries.) And the real dry weight is probably 400# more than the brochure weight. You'll be closer than you think on GVW and rear axle weight. Power-wise you'll be in good shape, my EB has 3.55 towing 7,000# and I'm happy with the power.

The trailer tow capacity definitely isn't an issue. I have a crew cab with a 3.5 EB and the max trailer tow package. Gear ratio is 3.55. The truck is rated to tow 11,500 pounds.
